Brian Greene


Brian Randolph Greene, born on February 9th, 1963, in New York, is an American theoretical physicist, mathematician, and string theorist. He was a physics professor at Cornell University from 1990 to 1995 and has been a professor at Columbia University since 1996, as well as chairman of the World Science Festival since co-founding it in 2008.

Greene has become known to a wider audience through his books “The Elegant Universe”, “Icarus at the Edge of Time”, “The Fabric of the Cosmos”, and “The Hidden Reality”.

He’s currently a member of the Commission of Sponsors of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
