About the play:

This is the fifth year we collaborate with the Science Museum creating a theatre play with a cast of scientists from the University of Coimbra, to be performed during the European Researchers’ Night. Citizen science is the central theme for the event this year. Like in previous years, the researchers not only step on the stage but also participate in writing the script.

Synopsis:

FAKELOOK is a kind of parallel universe inhabited by a group of characters who build and nurture an intense web of relationships.

Kajó wants to befriend Luísa, who is an operator in a call-center, who knows Susana, wife of Joaquim, who works in a laboratory identifying cancer cells. Rita is addicted in internet and loves to identify cells in the citizen science online game created by Francisca and Joaquim. Sofia, a friend of Rita and Luísa, likes to lose calories. They are all friends of Kajó, but only Luísa is his girlfriend.

The omnipresent Trashman sweeps endlessly mountains of data, analyzing everything that gets thrown away by the inhabitants of this universe. You never know what might be of use…
